Resolve changes to the pull request

  • In VS Code, go to the master branch and sync.
  • Edit if necessary changes PMs made to the pull request.
  • Remove empty product sections.
  • Remove the table of work items at the end.

If notes have fixed bugs only

If the table of contents is empty except for a link to fixed bugs, remove the table of contents.

Verify the date the software is released matches the contents of the Markdown file

If necessary, update:

  • The first line of the Markdown file
  • The name of the directory with the YYYY-MM-DD.md file
  • The name of the YYYY-MM-DD.md file

Watch for the software to be posted

Post the software immediately after the software is posted on Clearpath Community. Notifications the software is posted show on:

  • Clearpath Community email notifications (if you are subscribed)
  • In the Clearpath Community channel on Slack
    • The post includes an up-arrow icon and the text Classic edition YYYY.MM.vvv Installer

Publish the notes to Clearpath Community

  • Open scripts/years in the terminal.
  • Run ./2_assemble-markdown.sh. This concatenates all release notes files into a single Markdown file in reverse chronological order.
    • Compare changes to YYYY.md in the VS Code Source Control screen to verify the new notes are at the top and a reference in the table of contents is added.
  • Run ./3_md-to-html.sh to post the notes to Clearpath Community. Your Clearpath Community token must be in the file. Ignore warnings in the terminal about missing images.
  • Verify the notes posted correctly on Clearpath Community.

Commit and merge the changes

Commit and merge the changes to the master branch of the repository. Do not merge changes to ./3_md-to-html.sh if it includes your Clearpath Community token.

Add, remove, or change a published release note

Change the appropriate Markdown file in the release-notes repo and run ./2_assemble-markdown.sh and ./3_md-to-html.sh to re-publish (see steps above). Changes to work item fields are meaningless after the file of notes is exported to the repo.
