One-to-one subsets

When you first navigate to the record-entry page, you're in Create Record mode, with tabs for Main and each of its subsets.

A new record's one-to-one subsets start optional, with two buttons:

  • Add (enabled)
  • Remove (disabled)

All fields defined for the subset stay hidden, and any marked required don't block saving yet.

MainInspection Summary

Before

All fields hidden. Required fields don't block saving yet.

AddRemove

After Add

All fields appear. Required fields now block Save until valid.

AddRemove
A one-to-one subset before and after clicking Add.

Click Add to reveal all fields for the subset — required fields now block Save or Save and New until they're filled in with valid data. Click Remove to clear all fields and return to the original state, which re-enables Add, disables Remove, and lifts the block on saving.

One-to-many subsets

When you select a subset tab with a one-to-many relationship, an empty grid displays. Until you add an entry, Save and Save and New stay active as long as the rest of the record's required fields are filled in with valid, unique data — none of the subset's own fields are active yet.

A one-to-many subset: each click of Add Record adds a row.

Click Add Record to add a row to the grid. Adding a row flags all of that row's required fields and blocks Save or Save and New until they're filled in. Removing an empty or invalid row returns the grid to a savable state.

A one-to-many grid on a subset tab works the same way as any multi-record grid — it's just scoped to the subset data tied to this specific record.
