Compatible data types
When importing or mapping data, a source field's data type isn't always required to match its destination field's data type exactly. The table below shows which source types (rows) can populate which destination types (columns).
| Source \ Destination | Text | Date/Time | Date | Time | Decimal | Integer | True/False |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Text | ✓ | ||||||
| Date/Time | ✓ | ✓ | |||||
| Date | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ||||
| Time | ✓ | ✓ | |||||
| Decimal | ✓ | ✓ | |||||
| Integer | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | ||||
| True/False | ✓ | ✓ |
Notes
- A destination Text field accepts any kind of data, as long as its length is large enough to hold it.
- Date/Time fields accept Date-only data, but not Time-only data.
- Decimal fields accept Integer data, as long as there's no size issue.
- True/False, Integer, Date-only, and Time-only fields accept only their own data type as a destination.
