Set up subset tables
Subset tables connect additional data in the Main table to related records.
About subsets
Example 1: Claim notes for property claims (one-to-many)
| Table | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Main table | Claim demographic information — one claim per record |
| Claim Notes subset | One note per record; each note is tied to a specific claim |
A single claim can have many notes.
Example 2: Inspection summary for property claims (one-to-one)
| Table | What it holds |
|---|---|
| Main table | Claim demographic information — one claim per record |
| Inspection Summary subset | A single record with inspection details for a claim (inspector, date, outcome, and so on) |
A single claim can have at most one Inspection Summary record.
Add a subset tab
- Click + in the tab bar to add a tab for each additional subset.
- Assign a view name. The name must start with a letter and be alphanumeric. An alert appears if it's invalid or already used in the app's schema.
- Select cardinality:
| Cardinality | Connection to Main table |
|---|---|
| one-to-many (default) | Multiple subset records for each Main-table record |
| one-to-one | Only one subset record for each Main-table record |
- Define fields the same way you would for the Main table — subset tables use the same Display Label, Column Name, Required, Unique ID, Data Type, Max Length, Precision, Default Value, and Help Text controls.
- Click Save.
Delete a subset table
Click Delete Subset at the lower right of the subset's tab.
