Set up the Main table

The Main table holds an app's main records.

1. Click the Main tab.
2. Assign a view name. By default it matches your app's name, but you can change it.

Enter a name in the View Name field. The name must start with a letter and be alphanumeric. An alert appears if the name is invalid or already used elsewhere in the app's schema.

3. Click Add Field to define a field.

Field	What to do	Notes
Display Label	Enter a user-friendly name for the column	Required. Can be changed anytime, but changing it after the app has data no longer updates the underlying field name.
Column Name	Give the column a name	Required. Saved to the database, and auto-generated from the display label (minus unsupported characters). Must start with a letter and be alphanumeric. Becomes read-only once data exists.
Required	Check to make the field required
Unique ID	Check to make the field part of this table's unique ID	In data entry, the field's label is marked to show it's part of a unique ID. You can't save a record if the combination of unique-ID fields isn't distinct across the table.
Data Type	Select a type from the dropdown	Required. Entry point to define a dropdown control for the type. Dropdown values can be reordered manually, and the control still accepts direct keyboard input as long as it matches the data type.
Max Length	Enter the number of characters or digits allowed	Must be an integer. Choose a length that comfortably fits any value you expect. A shorter length saves storage.
Precision	Enter the number of digits to store after the decimal point	Must be an integer, can be 0, and can't exceed Max Length.
Default Value	Enter a value to pre-fill for every record missing one	Useful for required fields. If an import record is missing this field, the default value is used.
Help Text	Enter up to 255 characters describing the field	Shows as a tooltip during data entry.
Dropdown list (ellipsis button)	Assign a list of existing values, set up a quick list, or specify input-field order

Claim Amount ?Enter the total claim amount in dollars.

4. Click Save.
