Footer

Quick reference

  • Edit links in docusaurus.config.js under themeConfig.footer.links.
  • style: 'light' — the classic template ships 'dark'.
  • Actual colors (background, text, link, title) are overridden separately in src/css/custom.css, layered on top of whichever style is set here.
  • Copyright text is a template literal in docusaurus.config.js, so the year updates itself every build — no annual edit needed.

Configuration

docusaurus.config.js
footer: {
style: 'light',
links: [
{ title: 'Links', items: [
{ label: 'GitHub', href: 'https://github.com/cedar-ave' },
{ label: 'LinkedIn', href: 'https://www.linkedin.com/in/marlasowards' },
{ label: 'Stack Overflow', href: 'https://stackoverflow.com/users/7848350/hcdocs' },
]},
],
copyright: `Copyright © ${new Date().getFullYear()} Marla Sowards`,
},

The classic template ships a three-column Docs/Community/More layout pointing at Docusaurus's own docs, Discord, and GitHub. This site replaces it with a single "Links" column of the author's own profile links, and switches style from 'dark' to 'light'.

Add another { label, href } object to the items array, or add a whole new { title, items } object to links for a second column. Docusaurus lays out up to a few columns responsively; no CSS changes needed for a new column.

Color overrides

style: 'light' only picks Infima's built-in light-footer variable defaults. This site overrides those specific variables again in src/css/custom.css with its own light-gray/navy scheme:

src/css/custom.css
.footer {
--ifm-footer-background-color: #E6EDF5;
--ifm-footer-color: #202124;
--ifm-footer-link-color: #333333;
--ifm-footer-title-color: var(--palette-navy);
background-color: #E6EDF5;
padding-top: 2.5rem;
}

.footer__copyright {
font-size: 14px;
margin-top: 2rem;
text-align: left;
}

--ifm-footer-title-color reuses the shared --palette-navy custom property (see Colors) rather than hard-coding the hex again. .footer__copyright is left-aligned here — Infima centers it by default. See Global CSS overrides for the rest of the sitewide CSS this lives alongside.
